Learning CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Trauma Care including suturing and self-performing an IV are essential skills for anyone who spends time outside the range of Emergency Medical Services.

Unfortunately, many of these basic first aid skills are not easily obtained in our modern society and are being lost as generations come and go and we become more and more reliant on our government and its services.

Also, unfortunate is that with the loss of these skills we lose the ability to fully experience all that this wonderful Earth of ours has to see and explore!

I am a Former Army Airborne Ranger and Green Beret. My position as a Green Beret operative was as an 18D (Special Forces Medic). During those years I learned many invaluable survival skills; and truly believe that anyone who takes their self-preservation or that of their friends and loved ones seriously needs to have these skills.

CPR is easy and everyone should be CPR Certified!
Basic Life Support - Especially if you have older parents or hunt or hike with anyone over 45yo is also essential. Both are available through the Red Cross.
Trauma Care and IV Performance are unfortunately significantly more difficult skills to learn due to our archaic medical laws.

It is my intention is to teach these skills here for you and for future generations to learn.

I am going to begin with self-administering an IV - for two reasons:
First it is easier to teach and learn and there is a greater chance you will need this skill to survive. Secondly, you can purchase a complete kit from me with everything shown in this video and the money will enable me to continue to make other videos and continue teaching these basic life survival skills.

IV Bags-Sodium Chloride, IV bags for intravenous therapy. I.V. fluids provide the patient with life-sustaining fluids, electrolytes, and offers the advantage of immediate therapeutic effects. A solution administered into a vein through an infusion set that includes a plastic or glass vacuum bottle or bag containing the solution and tubing connecting the bottle to a catheter or a needle in the patient's vein.
Intravenous fluid replacement is a vital part of saving your life in hazardous or extreme situations and when medical help is unavailable or not immediately available. To maintain the patient's health, the fluid and electrolyte balance in the intracellular and extracellular spaces needs to remain relatively constant. Whenever a person experiences an illness or a condition that prevents normal fluid intake or causes excessive fluid loss, I.V. fluid replacement is recommended.
