Made of heavy, clear, pressed glass.
Foot is silver plated -- and as you can see, it is in need of polishing.
The design at the bottom is a starburst flower pattern.
I'm guessing it was made sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The diameter of the mouth is 10", and the diameter of the foot is 6". The height of the bowl is almost 6"
Because it's so large, it would make a great salad bowl, but it could also be good for serving sides such as potatoes or cole slaw. Or, place a cloth napkin in it, and use it to serve small dinner rolls.
This gently used item does have a couple flaws, hence the low price. First, the silver-plated foot is in need of polishing. Second, there are a couple tiny chips in the glass lip. Finally, the inside of the foot (which is not silver plated) has some rust. This rusting as well as the aged glue that holds the foot to the glass, both show from the top looking down. You can examine the last few close-up photos for details. I imagine if you are a savvy antiquer, you probably know how to clean this thing up.
