About the Role
The primary function of this position is to assist experienced operators in concrete cutting, demolition, and job site preparation while supporting field operations. This role requires prior experience operating heavy equipment and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where jobs are scheduled throughout the day.
Jobs are scheduled based on time, and efficiency and productivity are essential to keeping the schedule on track.
This position requires individuals who can work with urgency, stay productive throughout the day, and contribute to keeping the crew on schedule.
Job Responsibilities
(Not meant to be all-inclusive)
• Assist operators with job site setup, cutting, demolition, and cleanup
• Prepare job sites for cutting, removal, and hauling of concrete and debris
• Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials safely and efficiently
• Operate heavy equipment, including skid steer (Bobcat) and excavator, as assigned
• Perform trenching, digging, loading, grading, and site cleanup using heavy equipment
• Safely operate company trucks and tow trailers to and from job sites as assigned
• Back and maneuver trailers safely in residential and commercial job sites
• Assist with demolition and removal of concrete by machine and by hand into dump trailers
• Maintain a steady work pace and complete tasks efficiently throughout the workday
• Follow directions from supervisors and work effectively as part of a team
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of equipment and vehicles
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
• Work safely and effectively in various environmental conditions
Experience and Qualifications
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steer (Bobcat) and excavator is required
• Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment operation experience preferred
• Ability to safely drive company trucks and tow trailers
• Experience backing and maneuvering trailers in tight residential and commercial job sites required
• Ability to safely operate equipment in residential and commercial job sites
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain productivity throughout the workday
• Construction, demolition, or field labor experience preferred
• Mechanically inclined with basic equipment maintenance awareness
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for most of the workday
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
