FPS Civil is looking for a construction Dry utility track hoe operators with 2 or 3 exp. who would be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a track hoe (excavator) to install underground dry utility systems. Requires a high degree of precision, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work as part of a construction crew. Willing to learn to learn wet utilities excavation.
Candidates are able to also operate heavy construction equipment such as excavator, loader, Gannon, skid steer, backhoe, compactor, forklift, dozer, haul trucks, water trucks, and/or motor grader and perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections on equipment daily a plus. Work available around Maricopa and Pinal counties.
Core duties:
• Excavation and trenching: Operate the track hoe to dig trenches, pits, and holes for the installation of underground dry utility conduits and infrastructure. This includes using different attachments to perform slot trenching and piling hole excavation.
• Site preparation and restoration: Prepare construction sites for excavation and assist with backfilling trenches and restoring the ground to the specified grade after installation.
• Operating in proximity to existing utilities: Locate and safely work around existing underground services, such as pipes or other utility lines, to avoid damage.
• Installation assistance: Coordinate with the ground crew to help with the installation of duct banks, manholes, and other components.
• Material handling: Load and unload construction materials and equipment, moving items such as pipe and fittings around the job site.
Requirements:
• Acceptable driving record is required for operating on highway motor vehicles.
• 2 – 3 yrs. minimum of experience
• Must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles and equipment.
• Must be able to pass a drug test (including random testing)
• Must be able to pass background checks and obtain security clearance/badging as necessary to work at high security job site locations throughout Arizona.
• Trench safety, competent person, confined space, fall protection, and OSHA 10-hour training is highly desirable.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• Minimum 45 to 50 hours per week.
• Some weekend and night work required depending on job requirements.
• Working outdoors in inclement climate.
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and adhere to applicable safety policies.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, steel toe boots, seat belt, gloves, face masks, fall protection, etc.
• Acceptable level of correctable vision for Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral and Depth Perception.
• Hearing must be sufficient for being aware of back-up alarms and for normal conversations around loud heavy machinery.
• Use of both arms and legs required.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds or more, climb, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time under adverse field conditions.
