Once in a lifetime, you may come across a juniper tree that is 1500 years old. This tree trunk measured 52X48 across the cut end. I cut off all of the limbs, and than felled the trunk. This tree was standing dead for years here in Pine on a lot that is as yet built on. I had to call all over the state to find a saw mill that had a saw mill large enough to saw this hole. The live edge slabs measure 2.5" thick (10/4) and are 4 feet plus wide and 12 feet 8 inches long. If you have ever wanted a LARGE dining room table, or live edge kitchen counter tops etc. This is a once in a lifetime to make these out of a single, 1500 year old piece of wood. I have 8 slabs from this tree, and they are absolutely gorgeous! Check out the pictures. It takes 3 grown men to just move one of these slabs. (my other half named this tree "Grandpa")From the limbs of this tree, I took the suitable pieces, and also had them sawn, right here in Pine. Ranging from 7-9 feet and 2 inches thick. Great for Furniture, coffee tables, headboards etc. I also have smaller pieces, for signs and smaller yet for crafts etc. The "grandpa slabs start at $1000.00, and go up with size and figuring. The smaller slabs and pieces run $10 per board foot. Yes you can buy alligator juniper from hard wood suppliers in AZ for about 5-7$ per board foot. But commercial producers are allowed to cut nothing on public lands over 18" in diameter. These larger or "Grandpa"slabs can only legally come from private land with permission. with questions. The best thing is to check the pictures, and try to come up with a size that you can use, and I'll check to see what I have that matches your needs, and send you pics. Then come here and make your choice. Cash and Carry. I can deliver to the valley for the price of gas on orders over $1000. Or the price of gas and time for orders less than $1000.00. This is a once in a lifetime to own a 1500 year old piece of AZ history. I can also take the piece you buy, sand, finish and turn it into a table or other piece of furniture for you. Price depends on size, and design. I also have 2 pairs of book matched burl tables seen in the pictures. Price for these finished slabs are $1000.00 for the larger more round slabs, and $750 for the slabs that are more irregular in shape. Happy sanding!
