Crafted by Gibson Custom Shop in 2016; the foundation is otherwise a Historic 1958 Les Paul Standard with all critical specs intact; long neck tenon, hide-glue construction, Standard Historic hardware and plastics and more. This guitar is in “unplayed” shape with a couple micro marks on the back, no scratches, dings, etc, free from any breaks, cracks or repairs and is otherwise in like-new condition. It is described as “excellent” on this listing as it is a Prototype and was tested, perfected and dialed-in by the builders in the Gibson Custom Shop. Included with this guitar is an Original Gibson Custom Shop Vintage (leather style) Hardshell Case and Gibson Custom Shop build-sheet. This guitar’s history: was part of a Gibson exec’s private collection. Sale/purchase to me was made possible via (the highly respected) Lovies Guitars of Thousand Oaks, CA. At the time of my purchase (Feb 2023), Lovies rated the shape of this guitar as a “9.9 out of 10” and described it as “Minty” which I can confirm that it is indeed minty!!! After it was inspected by Lovies, I purchased the guitar as a collection piece and it has remained in its “unplayed condition” in a pet-free, smoke-free, and environmentally controlled home.
