This solid-wood Carvalho Octave Mandolin was hand made in Portugal. I purchased it almost 2 years ago from Maloney Music in Galway, Ireland and have not gigged with it. It’s been humidified and cared for. Top is solid cedar and the back and sides are solid sapele. The bridge and neck are most likely sapele as well. The instrument has great volume and projection with lots of overtones.
Had it set up by a local luthier/builder and it plays like a dream.
