Experienced low voltage technician needed to work part-time on network cabling, telecom, and related miscellaneous projects throughout the Phoenix metro area with occasional travel to other Arizona cities. Work includes pulling, testing, and terminating low voltage cabling for networks and telephone systems and cameras, network turnups and troubleshooting of simple devices with remote support, and installing and repairing premise Avaya telephone systems. Applicants must have reliable transportation and basic hand tools. Use of personal vehicle is reimbursed at .50 per mile beyond normal commute to work. Tools include a minimum 6 ft ladder (8 ft preferred,) cable cutting, terminating, and testing tools, and the drills and/or screwdrivers necessary to terminate jacks and wall mounting equipment for cable. Candidates must be able to both work well as part of a team and perform jobs independently as needed. This is a part-time position. Higher compensation is for techs with phone system experience. Must also have good communication skills to explain to clients the scope of work being performed. The position requires candidate to own a cell phone with Wi-Fi hotspot capability as well as a laptop.
