It's that time of year again!
Large crop of greens in front and back yards free to be picked or I pick for you.
Rather it go to a whole foods person or business vs. picking it and discarding when it goes brown.
Front and back yard has lots of the mature mustard green plants; Garden experts identified as Mallow, Quinoa, Malva, and Sow thistle, with some dandelion. There is also a lettuce variety. Some new microgreens and sprouts already coming up. There was a recent article in the Phoenix New Times about these so-called weeds: a horticulturist gave tours of varieties and explained what they are and they are edible greens.
Wildgrown greens are more powerful antioxidants and can be a salad or garnish; liver detoxifier; should be harvested by the roots- especially good for the liver. Can be dried and made into a tea or poultice.
Could be used as tea or ground up powder for salads, supplements, seasoning.
