From A.I. ...
The Scattante R650 is a classic road bike, known as a "house brand" for Performance Bicycle shops, that typically features a lightweight aluminum frame with a carbon fork and a reliable Shimano Ultegra groupset. It was produced in the early to mid-2000s and is generally considered a good value for the performance it offers.
Frame: The R650 primarily uses Ultralite Race Easton Aluminum Tubing (or Dedacciai alloy tubing on certain year models). It features race-inspired geometry designed for a balance of predictable handling and nimble agility.
Fork: It is equipped with a carbon fiber fork (Weyless brand) with an aluminum steerer, which helps dampen road vibrations.
Groupset: The R650 typically comes with a full Shimano Ultegra groupset, a high-quality, durable set of components. This usually includes:
Shifters/Brifters: Shimano Ultegra STI, 9-speed (some later models may feature 10-speed Ultegra 6600 or 6700 groupsets).
Crankset: Shimano Ultegra (e.g., 42/52 teeth or 53/39 teeth).
Derailleurs: Shimano Ultegra front and rear.
Brakeset: Shimano Ultegra BR-6500.
Wheelset: Original wheelsets were a mix, including Alex rims, DT Swiss hubs, and Weyless Korso wheels, depending on the production year.
Weight: The frame and fork together weigh around 4.7 lbs (2.2 kgs).
