FOR SALE 1960 Studebaker Hawk C- body 2 door coupe with the 289 V-8 and automatic transmission. This unit is the 60V 8 CYLINDER with the rear window flip out. Only 4507 were made, this number is 2851 of the total production that year.
The 1960 edition didn't go on sale until February of that year, and was now simply called the Hawk. Though styling was pretty much as before and looking quite dated there was good news under the hood, where the six was dropped in favor of the 210-horsepower 289 V-8 as standard. The 225-horsepower unit was optional.
Performance buffs applauded the adoption of heavier-duty rear axle, transmission clutch, and cooling system, as well as reinstatement of the finned drum brakes. New option included a tachometer.
Also the Early 1960 V8's had the four nut valve covers, but shortly after production started for the 1960 model year, the valve covers changed to the two nut version which would be seen until the end in 1963.this car has the two nut valve covers.
