I was using with a matching Dynaudio 18s subwoofer with superb results. DSP settings on the rear allow for adjustment for speaker placement in terms of proximity to rear wall, sound setting for bright, neutral or dark (BND), input sensitivity to allow for use with various preamps or DACs (I was using a Eversolo DMP-A6 ME w/ XLR out) and a bass extension setting for a preference on more LF output vs. ability to play louder. With just these simple adjustments, it is very easy to integrate these speakers into almost any situation.
They have both RCA and XLR inputs - I would highly recommend using the XLR inout as it will not pickup noise from your computer or power cords if using at a desk. I was using on a large desk that I work at in a office/bedroom setup basically pinned against the rear wall with the exception of space needed for the power cord and XLR cable, maybe 3-4 inches.
The sound that emits from these relatively small speakers is ridiculous. And if you add any powered subwoofer in the mix, you can take some of the LF burden off these speakers and it will clean up the sound even more.
