What do you need help with? Handyman with 30+ experience, new to the area and looking for work.
I've been suplementing my income with TaskRabbit (like DoorDash but handyman services instead of food) but as noted in the first picture, that will not continue. They add on lots of fees and taxes though, which should make things less expensive for any new clients.
I've owned old homes and/or been a landlord for nearly 20 years. As a child, my parents bought the dilapidated four-plex across the street and renovated and rented it out. My experience with odd jobs, guttings, renovations, landscaping and all the work involved in maintaining a home began early. Since then I've worked a summer at Home Depot, poured millions of pounds of concrete, and done countless jobs for mine and others homes.
All pictures are from October 5th (when I got into town) or later. These are just some basic things I've done in the past two weeks. Hung my corkboard, whiteboard, TV/monitor, and bookshelf in my office. Made a custom shelf for my plants. Scrubbed my grout lines and kitchen tiles. Repainted and hung my porch swing and solar LED lights. Mounted a TV. I included a picture of my garage chaosand truck. About half of my tools are still in boxes.
In the past few years for clients or through TaskRabbit I have replaced a water heater, the heat exchanger in an on-demand water heater, poured a small patio, laid pavers for a larger patio, installed ceiling fans, installed sump pumps (and did all the other cleanup from that flooded basement), installed a radon system, etc. on and on.
I can do virtually any small job, most medium gigs, and can give a bid or opinion on larger things. If I haven't done similar work or feel out of my element or uncomfortable with anything, I will let you know right away. I had to walk away from a job earlier this year after I opened a panel and found new electrical wiring spliced onto an old knob and tube system. That home needed proper electricians, not a new ceiling fan.
I can bid lots of jobs over the phone with some basic pictures and measurements. Hourly rate is $35-$60/hour, depending on the nature of the work. If its grout lines, I'm charging $60 because I hate it and hopefully price myself out. But if you want extremely clean kitchen tiles and grout lines and want to pay $60/hour we can do business. Easier jobs like hanging a TV or assembling furniture are closer to $35-$40.
Please reach out! I have pictures of other completed jobs I can share once we connect. Call or text Aaron at 406-241-2202. I live in Glendale but am willing to travel (no more than an hour). I make my own schedule with my full-time job and am usually done before noon most days. I travel infrequently for work so I apologize in advance if I happen to be unavailable. Thanks for the consideration and I hope to hear from you!
Enjoy the bonus picture with Maggie.
Update: 2nd Phoenix area client. Replaced fence (and various small repairs) in courtyard at a rental unit.
1st client had exterior LED lights hung (did not want to share photos).
2nd Update: Hired by a videogragher (me) to build modular platform for sporting events. Completed in one day with scrap wood and a new $45 sheet of plywood. Sets up in less than 5 minutes. The ladder sits in two grooves on the A-frame. Platform sits on top of the ladder. Two ratchet straps hold the platform to the ladder and a sandbag for each ladder leg. 44 inches of rise. Similar product sells for $700 with less square footage and no tripod stirrups. Easily fits in small truck or SUV. (I painted it black after filming the tournament)
Want me to engineer and build some custom equipment for you? I do that too! I was also hired to do a lot of painting. Those pictures dont pop like the new camera equipment. Imagine off-white rooms being painted beige. I've been working on that for weeks (and 1 lacrosse tournament)
