Each job begins, a puzzle to play, A code to be cracked, a lockbox away. A hidden key whispers, the door swings wide, A wagging tail waits for me inside. “Are you intruder?” the big eyes say, I answer with joy, “Let’s go walk today!” The leash clicks on, the adventure starts, With trust in our steps and joy in our hearts. The map tracks me while the owners see, Each bush, each corner, each marked little pee. Sometimes we wander, sometimes we run, A panting dog means the walk’s been fun. Photos and videos, I send them with care, So owners feel present, as if they were there. In Phoenix heat I fill bowls with pride, Ensuring cool water is waiting inside. Then doors are locked, reports are sent, A happy goodbye, a moment well spent. For money or miles, I don’t really mind, It’s dogs that I seek, not humans I find.
